Customer Quality PPAP Engineer/Administrator

Job Introduction

This position will support HydraForce alignment with the John Deere business. Focus on customer satisfaction by building strong relationships. The primary role of this position is to manage continuous improvement in the Quality, Wavelength, and Technical Support areas.

Role Responsibility

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the John Deere Supplier Quality System requirements
  • PPAP Coordination
    • Maintain knowledge of Deere contacts and process for PPAP’s
    • Anticipate PPAP requests and justify to support minimization of PPAP requirements
    • Onboard all PPAP requests from the Deere system (Part Plans)
    • Create necessary internal orders for production or samples to fulfill PPAP
    • Monitor HF progress toward PPAP deadline, informing and escalating as required
    • Provide internal notification to trigger shipment of approved parts
  • NCCA (Non-Conformances) / RMA (Return Authorizations) / CAR (Corrective Actions)
    • Monitor emerging NCCA issues at Deere and issue RMA
    • Track return and receipt of material and progress toward disposition
    • Review, understand and disperse evaluation reports
    • Provide central point for communication from claim to evaluation
    • Assure required corrective actions have been put in place
    • Prepare JDSN data reports of current and historical activity and performance on demand and for regular publication.
  • Debit Reconciliation
    • Review debits for quality related claims as supplied by Accounts Receivable
    • Engage stakeholders to provide information or escalation support as necessary
  • Supplier Change Notification (SCR)
    • Own the Deere submission and approval process for all HydraForce PCN’s
    • Understand Deere quality and engineering requirements to determine need and best approach for PCN’s
    • Collaborate on, or create independently SCR submittal content which will ease and speed Deere approval
  • John Deere On-Site Warranty / Quality Support
    • Provide on-site service for inspection, documentation, and repair activities.
  • Pre-Release Design Review (DPAR)
    • Participate in customer print review and approval
    • Participate in production readiness reviews
  • Temporary Deviations (TDR)
    • Generate and submit Deere format deviations request when HF issue a TDR affecting Deere valves or manifolds and facilitate approval process

The Ideal Candidate

  • University degree and/or 2-5 years operations or customer-facing experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of quality system operations, including returns and change management
  • Proven record of ability to maintain systems and data with discipline and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with people at all business levels
  • Knowledge of hydraulic circuits, components, and mobile equipment (agricultural / construction) preferred

Skills:

  • Diplomatic and poised approach to customer quality claims and communication
  • Able to work independently and use personal judgement to achieve final results
  • Diligence in maintaining multiple tracking documents with daily and weekly entries
  • Familiarity with a quality-related software platform (or similar quality documentation and change management tools)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite tools, with emphasis on Excel and use of Power Point to present data both numerically and graphically

Travel Requirements: average 10% of intermittent travel
