Key Account Manager (Sales Engineer)

Job Introduction

Position Summary:

Responsible for developing and implementing the sales strategy for designated key account(s) to maintain and drive business growth and profitability, while meeting corporate objectives

Key Account Sales Development

Actively participate in the business development process, identifying and exploiting new sales opportunities

Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all account locations to support long-term customer satisfaction

Collaborate with team members to achieve better results

Understand all the customers’ needs, problems or wants. Gather feedback from them and share with internal teams

Set up meetings with clients and listen to their wishes and concerns. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services and create frequent reviews and reports

Contribute to the development of the 5-year sales strategy for the key account(s)

Monitor, measure and report on sales opportunities, development plans, achievements and issues

Identify customer contact persona profile

Track and monitor your work within SalesForce

Report to management team

Performance Metrics

Engage management support to ensure key account customer metrics goals are met

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required 25% to 50% of the time


The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably within an Engineering discipline. Master’s Degree preferred or professional qualification or relevant, appropriate experience in lieu

Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or relevant role

Knowledge of hydraulics, products and applications markets

Experienced in proactively developing customers

Demonstrated ability to achieve results

Understanding of world class quality systems is required

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels internal/external

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, colleagues, develop and grow effective teams which will contribute to the business success

Ability to cultivate, understand and anticipate the needs of the customer, to provide effective solutions and recommendations

Capable of challenging existing practices, processes and systems to deliver improvements to benefit the business

Results oriented, with energy, intelligence, commercial awareness and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
