Team Leader - Dispatch and Packing

Role Responsibility

Duties & responsibilities

  • Set and communicate packing and despatch requirements and ensure resource is managed accordingly
  • Complete daily metrics information and attend production meetings
  • Facilitate and coordinate quality requirements, ensuring HydraForce standards are met
  • Using TWI methodology to agreed company standards in working practices and processes, ensuring that team members fully understand and follow all production processes and carry them out effectively
  • Liaise between departments to ensure customer requirements are met and any issues are resolved effectively and in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Customer Servicers Manager to facilitate training and development requirements within the team
  • Support team members in identification of improvement activities and problem solving
  • Responsible for customer returns process and liaising with Quality and Warranty teams as necessary
  • Carry out first line performance management of team, including coaching staff to improve performance, managing initial disciplinary issues, monitoring performance and appraising team members; referring to Departmental Manager where appropriate
  • Monitor and maintain Time and Attendance system, ensuring records are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure there are high standards of housekeeping and promote a culture of 5’s in the workplace
  • Manage holiday requests and other absences to ensure adequate levels of resource are achieved at all times
  • Facilitate Health & Safety and Environmental procedures, ensuring staff adhere to relevant safety and environmental requirements
  • Support team building and promote good working relations through example and good practice

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications & experience

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experienced in Lean practices and Continuous Improvement
  • Proven experience of Supervising and leading teams
  • Experienced in problem solving using recognised improvement systems, e.g. Kaizen or similar
  • Previous knowledge, understanding and use of manufacturing systems e.g. FourthShift
  • Computer literate, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
